Transportation Engineer - Entry Level Roadway
/Position Information
DGL is looking for an Entry-level new graduate engineer with a Bachelor's degree, E.I. certification. At the beginning level of engineering work, uses prescribed methods, standard techniques and practices to perform beginning level engineering assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers. Typically possesses 0-2 years’ experience.
Will work under the supervision of the roadway department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with the preparation of roadway construction documents.
Candidate must be familiar with the design requirements provided within the Ohio Department of Transportation Location and Design Manuals.
Routine tasks may include pavement design, drainage design such as gutter spread, open and closed drainage systems, BMP design, roadway horizontal and vertical design, quantity and construction cost determination.
There may be occasions where field survey and/ or construction inspection may be requested to assist with scheduling and project workload needs.
Skill Set
Microsoft Office, MicroStation (current ODOT L&D CAD tools) and ability to use AutoCAD as a secondary cad drafting and design skill
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to work and balance priorities among multiple projects
Outgoing, self-motivated team player
Experience with applicable computer software such as Microsoft Office and Excel
Proven success in delivering high quality project submittals
Professional demeanor
Valid Driver’s License required with a favorable driver’s record
Overtime hours may also be requested dependent on project workloads and submittal deadlines
Education
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Engineering Intern (E.I.) certification and Ohio Professional Engineering license preferred or the ability to obtain license within 6 months.
