Laurie Adams, PE, PTOE Named 2015 UT Civil Engineering Outstanding Alumna

The DGL family is proud to announce Laurie Adams, PE, PTOE, Principal and Director of Traffic Engineering, has been selected as The University of Toledo’s 2015 Civil Engineering Outstanding Alumna. She will be recognized on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the College of Engineering’s inaugural Outstanding Alumni Award and Reception.

At the event, she will speak about her formative years, career, the people who have helped her along her path, as well as fond memories of UT college life. With nearly 30 years of experience in the private consulting engineering industry, Laurie has served a wide-range of customers including Departments of Transportation, a variety of municipal clients, as well as industrial, commercial and institutional developers. Her specific areas of expertise are traffic studies, safety studies, traffic signals, highway lighting, maintaining traffic during construction, site design and roadway design.

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Toledo, is a Professional Engineer in Ohio and Michigan and is also a Professional Traffic Operations Engineers, an international certification. Laurie is currently the President of the Engineering Affiliate of The University of Toledo (EAUT) and serves on the College of Engineering Development Committee as well as the Civil Engineering Advisory Board. She sits on the Lucas County Access Management Board of Appeals and the Toledo Area Metropolitan Council of Government’s (TMACOG) Transportation Improvement Program committee. Membership in professional organizations includes the Technical Society of Toledo, American Society of Highway Engineers and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
