CAD Technician Co-Op

Position Information

As a co-op, you will be an integral part of the project team and help us create solutions for our clients. We believe this productive time challenges and motivates co-ops and helps you explore the wide variety of job opportunities available in the civil field. We are passionate about finding the solutions to client problems and having fun along the way. In fact, our unofficial motto is “having fun while getting the work done”. We also provide opportunities to volunteer our time and talents to local nonprofit organizations, offer STEM related engagement to schools and universities, run marathons together, among many other activities like our annual cornhole competition!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Working as a DGL Co-Op includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assisting with drawings, sketches, calculations and record keeping.

  • Communicating with Division leaders to understand project scope.

  • Preparing base and detailed drawings in accordance with project requirements.

  • Processing survey data, import data into MicroStation and AutoCAD.

  • Performing office work assignments within time constraints.

  • Working in a safe manner, abiding by local, company and client safety requirements.

  • Conducting themselves in a professional manner.

Skill Set

A DGL Co-Op should have the following skill set:

  • Familiar with MicroStation, GEOPAK and Microsoft Office Products Suite

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • Knowledge of land surveying and Trimble Business Center

  • Must be well organized and able to manage deadlines

  • Able to work on various size projects

  • Professional demeanor

  • Ability to communicate effectively

Education

  • Enrollment in and active pursuit of a post-secondary technical degree program, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology in Engineering, Construction or Surveying.

  • Valid Driver’s License required
