DGL performed geometric, as well as drainage design, for two parking lots at The Toledo Zoo. The employee lot located on Spencer Street and the Main Visitor Lot on the Anthony Wayne Trail. The lots were designed to act as a detention area for each of their respective sites. DGL worked with the City of Toledo to find favorable drainage and treatment solutions. A combination of surface and underground detention was used. Meter lines were used to restrict the flow into the existing storm sewer system at each site. Three VortSentry structures were used to treat stormwater before outletting into Toledo’s storm sewer system. Rain gardens were employed in two locations.
